Hybrid
This weeks artist of the week is from my electronic-music-loving side of me. Regardless of how you feel about electronic music as a whole, Hybrid is a musically-talented group. Outside of their normal releases they have scored several movies along-side Harry Gregson-Williams. It is no wonder then, that naturally Hybrid would combine the big cinematic orchestra experience with electronic music.
What does Hybrid sound like?
Gradually building cinematic and moody orchestral compositions meshed with massive breakbeats.
Why we high five Hybrid.
Hybrid has crazy compositional skills. Even without the electronic element added they can produce some great stuff. Just take a listen to an orchestra-only version of a track they produced nearly ten years ago:
Combining this with breakbeats make for some really exciting tracks. I can close my eyes a lot of times to their music and imagine movie scenes of different kinds. Hybrid has an album coming at the end of March and I am eagerly awaiting what new sounds Hybrid will bring. We already got a preview with their new single “Break My Soul” that does a crazy minor to major key breakdown (then back to minor).
