Robot Science – September/The Notion of Backwards Motion

I’m always on the lookout for independent musicians. I love to hear what musicians come up with for the love of music — because obviously at this point there is hardly (if at all) any money to be made. I get even more excited when I find artists from the Bay Area!

I just discovered Robot Science today. His sound reminds me of an instrumental version of Postal Service. He makes heavy use of the square soundwave to make synth melodies. He is an EDM musician that is light and relaxing to the ear…definately not club stuff. Anyways I love his stuff, especially his song “September”

Support his music.

(His email published on his site also leads me to believe he is a UC Berkeley student. If so, go bears! If not… go bears!)

Gospel-filled lyrics with a great worshipful melody. Gotta love worship songs like this. High Five!

Zack Hemsey – Mind Heist

There is just something about epic film scores that tickle my fancy. I love how it gets your heart pumping and exaggerates the movie experience. Zack Hemsey is the composer for just the trailer score to inception — and if you ever remember seeing that trailer, it has a really epic score. High Five!

Kid Cudi & Johan Wedel – Whenever Cudder Is Back (Johan Wedel Re-Touch)

Kid Cudi & Johan Wedel – Whenever Cudder Is Back (Johan Wedel Re-Touch) by HouseEssentials

I can slowly find my musical tastes shifting toward the house genre. And I must say that vampire weekend’s lead vocalist, Ezra Koenig, works beautifully in the house genre. Johan Wedel is a genius for bringing all this magic together. High Five!

Jay-Z, Rihanna & E.S. Posthumus – Run This Town (Posthumus Zone Medley)

Jay-Z, Rihanna & E.S. Posthumus – Run This Town-Posthumus Zone (Medley) by Hypetrak

This is weird, because I’m not a hip hop kind of guy and yet I’m posting about two in one day! But this is an awesome mashup of a popular hip hop song with classical sounds. Feels like strings from an action movie — gives this song way more epicness. High Five! (No wonder they used it for football)
